A data element is a specific piece of information that can be used to identify a natural person, either on its own or in combination with other information.


Navigation to Data Elements:


Go to Data Inventory from left menu -> Data Elements



For adding new data elements, click on the "+Add" button.



You will be redirected to the screen shown below.


Fill in the below details:


  • Data Element Name: Enter the data element named you want to create.
  • Description: Provide a short description of the data elements.
  • Data Category: Data category refers to a group of related data items that share a common theme or characteristic. Data categories are typically used to organize and classify data in a way that makes it easier to search and analyze.
  • Personal Information Type: Select the type of personal information such as PII, Sensitive PII, etc.
  • Sensitivity: The level of sensitivity of a data element determines who has access to the data element. For example: Whether the information is known to the public such as your Name, or it is private information such as your bank account details.
  • Criticality: The level of criticality of a data element determines the risk after its compromise or loss. For example: No loss, little loss, etc.
  • Data Subject Categories: Data subject categories refer to the type of individuals whose personal data is collected, stored, and processed.



    Click on the “Save” button.



    To View or Modify the data elements, click on the data elements name, or click on the edit option from actions button.
